Family

It has been forever, or at least it feels like forever since I posted.  I haven't done an actual layout for a few weeks but have been busy putting things together.  I can't believe that summer is pretty much over and my oldest starts Kindergarten this week.  It's crazy.  My how time flies.  Which is completely appropriate for this posting.  I was asked to make FIVE of these word books.  Three for boys and the other two for girls.  They were all very similar except the girls got flowers in their books and the boys got buttons.  Thanks so much for looking! I was asked to make them in black in white (although I did throw a splash of color in there).  The hopes of who I made them for was to cherish and preserve some family memories and relatives throughout the years!

Make a Splash!

I am so excited to be the Guest Designer over at SOUS this week!  Thanks so much ladies for letting me play along.  This week there was no sketch just a summer theme with bright fun colors.  I had so much fun making this layout.  I loved the paper as soon as I saw it!  The pictures are great because they are of 3 of my favorite boys, my two and my nephew!  And...I totally couldn't resist putting the picture of my little guy with soggy bum and shorts falling down. There are lots of small details that I put in.  Thanks for looking and hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Make the Cut for the water drops and splatters.  I drew the water drops in inkscape myself, my first attempt at drawing something (basic I know) but I am pretty happy with how they turned out!

The Magic of Disney

My husband and I have always been crazy about Disney.  That has passed on to our oldest Mason.  We decided to take him to Disneyland just over a year ago while he still believed in the magic of it all.  So 30 weeks pregnant, off we went.  Mason loved it, he was completely in awe, overwhelmed, in loved and totally exhausted by the end of our trip.  I don't think he blinked once.  A while ago I saw that patriciajohnson8 over on the cricut forum had done this AMAZING Disney title and so kindly shared it.  Ever since I saw it, I knew I wanted to work it into a layout.  So here it is, the SOUS sketch and my take on it!  I am not sure the colorful letters quite go with the very black, white and red layout, let me know what you think.  I also loved the looks of the glittery letters and mickey and minnie so tried to tie it in the the Disney word as well.  Thanks for looking!

Oh Canada!

I am so glad I got this layout done!  I have been away camping with my family and visiting and celebrating my little guys first birthday which also means going back to work this week!  I missed out on the sketch over at SOUS so decided to combine the sketch, the theme of red, white and blue as well as this weeks challenge of stars and stripes.  These pictures are of my youngest on Canada Day! Boys Having Fun!

It has been a crazy two weeks!  We had family visiting and I am working on 5 family albums and kids have been sick!  I really wanted to do this weeks sketch over at SOUS since I missed out last week and have only a few short weeks before my maternity leave is over and I have to go back to work...AAHHHH!  I am hoping to still keep up with one layout a week...we'll see!  I had so much fun doing this week's layout because I got to use my monkey's that I got over at myscrapchick.com.  They are so cute and the colors of the papers conveniently complimented the photos I chose.  These are from last week, my two boys and nephew playing around with each other...ok...my baby doesn't really play with the older boys but I had to include him. I didn't get the sketch done last week over at SOUS because I was busy refreshing CPR and NRP in getting ready to go back to work mid-July so wanted to get this one done as we have company arriving this week.  This was in September of 2009 when we were visiting my parents.
Here is the sketch:

I really loved everything about this sketch and was pleased with how the stitching turned out around the music paper which has words to Old Macdonald Had a Farm. Here is my take on it!

You Stinker!

I didn't think I was going to get this done on time this week.  I am not sure I am entirely happy with it.  I think it is missing something but can't quite figure out what it is.  These pictures are of my 10 month old getting into all the things he isn't supposed to.  I really love how the pictures turned out!
